Personal coaching begins with a conversation in which we explore what you wish to achieve and your capacity for achieving it. After our exploratory conversation, I will draft an informal contract that will describe my understanding of the areas you wish to focus and a proposed schedule. I’ll then ask you to:
- Review the areas of focus and correct them if necessary
- Complete two assessment instruments: a self-assessment instrument and another that asks colleagues and peers for their reflections about your leadership.
-
Optionally, you can complete a one-page autobiographical statement
.
We’ll then our regular coaching sessions, which usually combine face-to-face with telephone sessions. After ten weeks, we’ll review our progress.
For more on the coaching process, please read the next session: Coaching Nuts and Bolts.

The Game of Games:
Many people begin coaching because they have a
project or goal they wish to pursue and want
support doing so. If you fit that profile,
consider participating in the Game-of-Games either
in place of or in conjunction to your coaching.
The game is designed to help you complete your
project in a supportive and fun environment. Go
directly to the website to find out more.
